Eugene Field House & St. Louis Toy Museum

…side by side, a row of houses, removed but not too far from the bustling of the courthouse—the family of Roswell Field, everyday life in transformation—a young family, a father advocating for another’s freedom, life-changing narratives, the power of language in a son’s unforgettable poetry…

Oil ClothA legacy begun in 1936 with the establishment of the Eugene Field Shrine by the Board of Education of the City of St. Louis continues today under the Eugene Field House Foundation.  This historic property and museum allows a multifaceted history that is central in our nation’s struggle for equality.  The importance of a common understanding of the past connects to the heart of the collaborative.
